Black Widow

  1) List the companies involved in the creation of Black Widow.   Marvel and Walter Disney studio 2) What is conglomerate ownership and how does it link to Black Widow? The conglomerate ownership is Disney owning Marvel and it links to Black Widow because it means Disney is in control of the film. 3) Analyse the  film trailer   for Black Widow. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie? The trailer contains realistic explosions and scenes which make the movie stand out. For example when Black Widow jump out of a plane and landed on a broken piece of a building. The film has also used a simular super hero costume that Black Widow has worn in her previous Marvel movies(endgame) which shows how this was a high budget film. 4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? Marvel cinematic Universe

  1) How many films were there in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) at the time of this article? There were 22 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 2) How much money have the MCU films made in total according to this article? They made more than 18.2Billion. 3) Why did Marvel create the Avengers films? In 2007, Marvel was recovering from bankruptcy and had sold off the film rights to some of the company's most popular characters like the X-Men and Spider-Man.  Marvel still owned the superheroes who form the core Avengers team - Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor and Captain America - so used the early MCU films to introduce these heroes.  Marvel then brought these characters together for the crossover film Avengers Assemble.   4) Who owns the rights to Spiderman and why is the character now appearing in Marvel films?   1) What is a  conglomerate  in the media industries?  A major company that owns a lot of subsidiaries. 2) What is a  subsidiary ? A smaller company owned by a major media company. 3) What are the benefits for media companies of  vertical integration ? Owning companies within the same chain as production means the major company gets to make money at every stage of production and distribution. Complete ownership = more profit and control . 4) What are the benefits for media companies of  horizontal integration ? Buying companies at the same level of distribution allows companies to widen their audience and find other ways to make money. 5) Give  three  examples of media companies or brands that have used  synergy  to maximise their profits.
